The firm
Two directors. Every instruction reviewed directly.
Peak Surveying Services is a director-led building surveying consultancy. Every instruction goes to McGrath or McInnes directly. Not to a case management team. Not to an associate.
The practice provides survey, specification, and professional oversight for property owners, insurers, and loss adjusters across Jersey.
The practice is RICS-regulated. Insurance reinstatement is the primary specialism. Dilapidations, building surveys, and project management form the wider service range.
Director
Mike McGrath
MSc Commercial Building Surveying, Liverpool John Moores University. Over fifteen years in building pathology, repair management, and construction project delivery.
McGrath’s career began in-house at a national loss adjusting company. He understands the claims process from the other side of the desk.
Relocated to Jersey in 2010. Joined a local independent building surveying consultancy. Founded Peak Surveying Services in 2012.
Head of Surveying Services
Iain McInnes MRICS
RICS-registered chartered surveyor. Career spanning London and Jersey since 1984.
Prior roles: Property Services Agency (UK Government property portfolio), Kemsley Whiteley & Ferris (chartered surveyors), Grosvenor Estate, CBRE, Royal Bank of Scotland Group Property.
Specialist in building pathology, dilapidations, contract administration, project management, and reinstatement cost assessment. Joined Peak as Head of Surveying Services in December 2023.
Independence
Independent of insurer appointment. That is not an oversight.
Peak Surveying represents the policyholder — not the claim settlement. We have never held a panel appointment. That is the operating principle the practice was built around.
When a property owner instructs Peak Surveying, the assessment is ours. The adjuster receives it. They do not direct it.
Peak Surveying & Peak Projects
Two companies. Shared directors. Separate instruction.
Peak Surveying Services Limited provides survey, specification, and professional oversight. Peak Projects Limited is a separate entity handling building works and project management.
The two share directors and professional standards. They do not share instruction or conflict-of-interest exposure.
A policyholder instructing Peak Surveying does not trigger a commercial relationship with Peak Projects.
Where both entities are involved in the same project, conflict-of-interest management is applied. The surveying instruction remains independent of the contracting appointment.
